Alquimétricos is a modular system to build all types of two- and three-dimensional geometric structures, including Platonic solids, geodesic domes, articulated systems such as simple machines, and kinetic sculptures, among others. You can get it made, or you can produce it yourself at home or in the workshop, with hand tools or using digital manufacturing technology such as laser cutting, plotter, 3D printing, or CNC router.
It is a completely open-source resource for linking connectors together using rods threaded into a pair of holes. Added to this tangible component is a platform with tutorials and educational content and a series of recreational proposals to discover the world of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) in a hands-on, engaging and fun way.
The commercial use of Alquimétricos is permitted in the development of products and services. It is enough to credite the source @alquimetricos when any creation that uses this methodology and technology is published.
On this page we provide a vector file that can be used to drill and cut connectors from flexible and slightly elastic sheet materials, such as EVA rubber. Other alternatives include leather, certain textiles, recycled materials such as Tetrabrik cardboard from milk boxes, thermofused plastics, among others.
