Let's democratize STEAM education with Alquimétricos!

Alquimétricos is an independent project that was created with the dream of bringing active methodologies from the STEAM field to children, teenagers, and educators in contexts where other educational proposals do not reach due to economic restrictions, social conflicts, and humanitarian crises.

We recently developed Kit Zero, which systematizes nine years of diverse recreational and educational experiences. It is aimed at teachers and seeks to respond to the challenges of literacy in technology, science, and arts in vulnerable social sectors.

To amplify our impact, we invite the global community of Alquimétricos collaborators and supporters to participate in a Collaboraton within the framework of Open Education Week (OEW 2024), from March 14th to 16th.

It is possible to contribute to the task of proofreading to keep our resources in different languages updated. We will work with the contents of Kit Zero in Spanish, Portuguese and English; We will hold meetings to present Kit Zero and the review dynamics. To participate, we ask you to fill in this form. You can access the texts on which we will work and details of the methodology here.

With this revision we will be in a position to expand the dissemination of Kit Zero, and we count on the help of the entire community to achieve maximum impact. Anyone can collaborate in mapping opportunities to continue growing; We are looking for repositories that serve as dissemination platforms for Kit Zero, sites specialized in communication of open educational resources, and sources of financing and support for projects. We welcome suggestions here or by contacting us.

The global Alquimétricos network wants to continue growing! We suggest that you help us add collaborators, inviting creative and curious people who want to build new realities to fill in this form.

About Alquimétricos

Alquimétricos is an international community for the design, production, and dissemination of Open Educational Resources in the form of low-cost and open-source building blocks. Our resources promote the learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). We support a collaborative, maker, playful way of doing things based on the premise of “do it yourself”.

Since 2015, more than 45,000 children and 1,200 teachers participated in Alquimétricos activities in 50 cities from 10 countries. We participate in UNESCO programs, MIT Media Lab Lifelong Kindergarten, Creative Commons, Red Bull Basement, among others.

On the Alquimétricos LAB platform we offer free educational resources, such as teaching guides and assembly instructions to play and learn with our kits.
